Performance Capabilities Analysis |
Adopt-A-Minefield (AAM) was created in response to the global landmine crisis and provides assistance to landmine survivors and raises awareness. Since its launch in 1999, AAM has quickly become one of the world's leading fundraising mine clearance program. It is the only nongovernmental funder in the top donor list in six of the most heavily mined countries in the world, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Cambodia, Croatia, Mozambique, and Vietnam. According to AAM in just over four years, they have raised over $10 million for mine clearance, in approximately 4 years they have cleared nearly 16 million square meters of land during that time frame. AAM cleared 16,000,000 square meters in 4 years which equals: 172,224,000 square feet = 3,954 acres = 6.178 square miles. 16,000,000 square meters were cleared using the operating ratios for the: A single shift of 40 hours per week = 2,080 work hours per year. Therefore, 1.27 shifts for 1 year (at the lower rate) will take care of this with a single piece of equipment.
